Steam Boilers
Our steam boiler systems are manufactured in Germany by Weiss-Kessel. They are recognised internationally as leaders in the field of Industrial steam boilers designed specifically for biomass. The steam boilers come in many different options designed to fit the client specification.
- Turbocrat
- Three Pass
- Smoke tube
- Water tube
They can be supplied in thermal power output from 650kW up to a maximum of 50MWth. with a range of furnace and burning grate designs that include; cyclone furnace (underfeed and injection), rotating nozzle grate furnace and push grate furnace. These steam boilers come with automatic ash extraction, automatic tube cleaning, using compressed air, and flue gas recirculation for greater combustion chamber temperature control.
Turbocrat Steam Boiler
The turbocratboiler is a three-pass-fire tube boiler for generation of warm water of 110 °C and 10 bar, of hot water up to 160 °C and 10 bar, of low pressure steam up to 1 bar and high pressure steam up to 10 bar. Boiler output is 1,000 kW to 8,000 kW.
The turbocratboiler as a three-pass-boiler is designed with a big fire tube, which is the combustion chamber. This ensures an optimum combustion rate, due to the flue gas residence time and good mixing/turbulence. The furnace is installed below the boiler, and the flue gases flow from below into the boiler fire tube.
This design of commercial steam boiler is most commonly used for heat generation in the middle output range, an ideal application of the turbocratboiler is one with a rotating nozzle grate furnace for burning biomass pellets.
Three Pass Steam Boiler
The three-pass-boiler is a 3-pass fire tube boiler for generation of hot water up to 200 °C and high pressure steam up to 32 bar. The boiler output is 1,000 kW to 15,000 kW.
The three-pass-boiler is for heat generation installed after the furnace. The flue gases flow in the inside of the flue tubes and the water in the boiler pressure vessel flows outside of the tube. For cleaning of the flue tube there is a compressed air cleaning plant installed.
Smoke Tube Steam Boiler
The smoke tube boiler for hot steam generation is designed to operate with a pressure of 36 bar and a hot steam temperature of 500 °C. The steam output is 12 tonnes/hr; this corresponds to a thermal output of 10,000 kW.
The power range of this class of commercial steam boilers is between 2,000 - 10,000 kW. The furnace for this type of plant would have a push grate or an injection system built in front of the boiler.
The furnace has an additional empty pass before the entry of the flue gases into the boiler. The superheater for generating the hot steam temperature is added to the boiler. After that an economiser and if required a combustion air pre-heater is installed. Cleaning of the heating surfaces is executed with a compressed air cleaning device and soot blowers.
Water Tube Steam Boiler
This industrial steam boiler is designed for steam generation output of up to 70 tonnes/hr; this corresponds to a thermal output of 50,000 kW.
The power range of this range of steam boilers is between 4,000 - 50,000 kW. They can operate up to 110 bar pressure with a hot steam temperature of 515 °C. The boiler pressure vessel is constructed in tube-web-tube walls and is built gas tight. The combustion chamber with empty pass, the heating surfaces and the superheater is integrated in that.
The steam drum has a big storage volume and is built onto the boiler pressure vessel. The economiser and if necessary the air pre-heater is installed after the boiler. The entire boiler concept is designed and built especially for the combustion of biomass the furnace with push grate and the large combustion chamber is especially suitable for green waste, wood biomass and bark. Cleaning of the boiler heating surfaces is carried out during the boiler operation with soot blowers.
